Hello and welcome!

I’m Sandy Fleming, educator, writer, and private tutor. I live in Southwestern Michigan and have been tutoring both adults and children for well over 30 years now.  I write articles, create resource books, and even develop games and other activities to meet student needs.

I specialize in working with students of all ages who are “falling through the cracks.” Some have diagnosed learning problems or conditions, while others simply are not meeting academic goals at the expected pace. No matter who my students are, I believe strongly that they CAN learn with the right combination of encouragement and the specialized teaching tools that help me fine tune lessons to be just what they need at this time.  I’ll do everything in my power to help you or your student meet the desired goals.

My journey to Educational Consultant began long ago, when I first decided to become a teacher. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Special Education, and worked in classrooms for many years. After my children were born, I chose to work from home as a tutor, and now that the kids are grown and out of the house, I spend most of my days teaching others in some capacity. I typically have over 30 direct-service students on my case load, seeing local students in person and distance students virtually.

I’m happy to provide consultation with parents or mentors, work directly with students, or design tailor-made materials for each student’s needs. Our first consultation appointment (up to 30 minutes) is always free – I can listen to your concerns and determine a course of action to improve learning. We will all need to see if this is a good match for everyone concerned. We can decide which resources or programs best suit your needs and work from there.
